Aikido Silicon Valley is led by Dojo Cho Alice MacAllister Sensei, 5th degree black belt, and Bill Witt Sensei, 7th degree black belt and Shihan (master instructor). Our lineage traces directly to Saito Morihiro Sensei and the founder of Aikido Ueshiba Morihei O-Sensei and the techniques practiced at Aikido Silicon Valley reflects the Aikido that was practiced by the Founder in Iwama, which continues on to this day.
Our student body consists of members who have been training with us for more than 10 years and have achieved ranks up to 4th degree black belt. Everyone is happy to share knowledge and help each other improve. The amount of experience available at Aikido Silicon Valley makes us a great environment for beginners as well as advanced students to progress along the path of Aikido.
Our practice may be quite vigorous but is always conducted in a spirit of mutual support and cooperation with the shared goal of helping each other progress in the art. Typically, pairs of students take turns attacking and defending, adjusting the intensity of training to the level of the training partners. As you progress in the way of Aikido, you will find that you are more centered and better prepared physically, mentally, and spiritually to successfully engage with challenging situations both in the dojo and in your everyday life.
We are conveniently located in Sunnyvale and offer 11 classes per week for adults and five classes per week for younger students, including early morning, evening, and Saturday classes.
